چکیده

Objective. To improve the results of total knee arthroplasty by developing a methodology for design and manufacture an individual instrument implants accuracy installation. Methods. An analysis literature on various concepts alignment was carried out. In practice, one them chosen depending clinical case. For preoperative planning, CT scan lower extremities performed with capture pelvis or hip joint; feet completely up to calcaneus (CT 64 128 slices were used better visualization increased accuracy). With help RadiAnt DICOM, 3D model converted into STL file, which uploaded FreeformPlus program, where planning done. The program allows not only assess presence varus valgus deformity limb, determine its degree, but also other deformities legs. after assessing deformity, we perform using concepts: anatomical, mechanical, kinematic. After choosing concept virtual correction prepare print is additive technology. addition, joint parts femur tibia, surgeon orient himself intraoperatively. Results. Thanks completed work software, it possible increasing installing. developed technique 3D-design tool allowed us use any high accuracy. Preoperative increases understanding because himself, engineer, does it. Conclusions. Developed three-dimensional modeling extremity makes correctly plan, put practice patient specific arthroplasty, taking account characteristics extremity.

Radiologic Assessment of Distal Femur Cutting Angle in Varus Knee Candidates for Total Knee Arthroplasty

Background: In a total knee arthroplasty surgery the goal is to produce 90 degree angle between the knee articular lobe and the mechanical femoral line. Most orthopedic surgeons usually utilize a 5 to 7 degree for distal femoral cutting angle. In this study we will aim at clearing this question, that whether the” five-seven degree” distal femoral cutting angle supposed to be an equable spectrum...

Simple method for confirming tibial osteotomy during total knee arthroplasty

UNLABELLED BACKGROUND Achieving precise implant alignment is crucial for producing good outcomes after total knee arthroplasty (TKA). We introduce a simple method for confirming the accuracy of tibial osteotomy during TKA. FINDINGS Two metallic markers were placed on the skin 20 cm apart, one on the tibial tuberosity and other on the tibial crest, points that are easily identified and palp...

Different References for Valgus Cut Angle in Total Knee Arthroplasty

Background: The valgus cut angle (VCA) of the distal femur in Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) is measured preoperativelyon three-joint alignment radiographs. The anatomical axis of the femur can be described as the anatomical axis of thefull length of the femur or as the anatomical axis of the distal half of the femur, which may result in different anglesin some cases. During TKA, the anatomical ...

Two-stage Total Knee Arthroplasty for Treatment of Surgical Failure of Septic Arthritis in Degenerative Knee Joints

Background: The ultimate goal of the treatment of infectious knee arthritis is to protect the articular cartilage fromadverse effects of infection. Treatment, however, is not always hundred percent successful and has a 12% failurerate. Persistent infection is more likely to happen in elderly patients and those with underlying joint diseases, particularly osteoarthritis. Eradica...
